How to integrate MailChimp with JDoodle.ai ​

MailChimp is a popular marketing platform that enables businesses to manage email campaigns, automate marketing, and engage with customers. Its API allows seamless integration with other applications, enabling you to sync contacts and leverage email marketing features directly within your projects.

Integrating MailChimp with JDoodle.ai lets you:

  • Sync contact data and manage mailing lists.

Integrating MailChimp ​

Get your MailChimp API key ​

  • Log in to your MailChimp account.
  • Click on your profile icon in the upper right corner and select Profile from the drop-down menu.
  • On your profile page, click on Extras and then select API Keys.
  • Scroll down to view any existing API keys, or click Create an API key to generate a new one.
  • Name your new API key (e.g., "JDoodle API Key") and click to generate it.
  • Copy the newly created API key to your clipboard.

Add the API Key to JDoodle.ai ​

  • Open your project or start a new project in JDoodle.ai.
  • Go to the Secrets tab located at the top of your project dashboard.
  • JDoodle.ai will automatically create three fields for Mailchimp:
    • MAILCHIMP_API_KEY
    • MAILCHIMP_SERVER_ID
    • MAILCHIMP_LIST_ID
  • Replace the dummy values in each field with your actual credentials from your Mailchimp account.
  • Click the Save icon in the top-right corner to apply the changes.
  • Once saved, refresh or publish your project to connect it with Mailchimp.

How to Find Your Mailchimp List ID ​

  1. Log in to your Mailchimp account.
  2. Click on Audience in the left menu.
  3. Click More Options.
  4. Select Audience Settings.
  5. You’ll find the Audience ID (also called the List ID) on this page.
  6. Copy this ID and paste it into the MAILCHIMP_LIST_ID field in JDoodle.ai’s Secrets tab.

What is a Server ID and How to Find It ​

The Server ID (sometimes called the Data Center) identifies which Mailchimp data center your account is associated with.
It helps JDoodle.ai know where to send your data securely.

You can find it in two ways:

Option 1: From the URL ​

When you’re logged in to Mailchimp, check the address bar.
For example:
https://us14.admin.mailchimp.com/ → your Server ID is us14.

Option 2: From Your API Key ​

Your Server ID is also part of your API key — it appears after the hyphen.
For example:
If your API key looks like this:
c749****************************-us8
then your Server ID is us8.

Copy that value and paste it into the MAILCHIMP_SERVER_ID field in JDoodle.ai’s Secrets tab.

Adding MailChimp forms ​

You can also embed forms directly into JDoodle.ai projects.

  • Get the embed code for your MailChimp form from your MailChimp account and then copy it.
  • Paste the embed code directly into the prompt box in JDoodle.ai and ask JDoodle.ai to integrate it into your project.

Troubleshooting ​

Incase the API key is not working, here are a couple of things you can do:

  • Double-check that the API key is copied correctly.
  • Click on the 'Save' icon after entering the API keys.
  • Refresh your project after re-adding the key.
